In 1988, John Reaves, with the assistance of former Appellate Justice and Senator Gordon Cologne (who co-sponsored the Porter-Cologne Water Act, which established the regulatory framework under which the regional and state water boards were created), successfully amended the California Health & Safety Code regarding above-ground tanks on behalf of a large circuit board manufacturer client, Industrial Circuits.
Reaves has also actively lobbied Members of Congress, state, and local politicians on environmental issues. He can assist clients in assessing new and prospective legislation and advocate on behalf of clients to modify or create legislation or directly challenge new legislation by lawsuit when necessary. He is dedicated to advocacy that is consistent with advancing long-term environmental interests, sound public policy, and job creation. ReavesĀ is currently acting as Director of Policy for the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce.
